Ready? Set... Go!

It's that time to prepare for Ghana...

Well well well! Look at you counting down the days until departure for your African experience, what a nice feeling! Like a kid in a candy store, the exciting feels are here and the time for preparation is NOW!

We hope our guide helps you with a clear insight on the things you should consider packing for your stay in Ghana and the prerequisites before your arrival into the Country.

Entering Ghana

Ghana Entry

Ghana requires the following documentation: Active passport, Ghana visa and proof of yellow fever vaccination. You can contact the Ghana Embassy for the online visa application process and contact your local healthcare provider on receiving the yellow fever vaccine.

If you have not yet attained the mentioned documents, please have these requirements before 12/15/2023 for entry.

WIFI & Outside Communication:

We recommend downloading the WhatsApp Application before landing in Ghana. WhatsApp is a wifi communications app that gives you access to communicate with local and foreign numbers for your convenience, free of charge. So you'll be able to connect with your loved ones during the duration of your trip with no worries.

If you will not have wifi upon landing in Ghana, you will be able to connect to a provided network or have the option to purchase a local portable hotspot device to upload wifi credit post settling into your lodging.

Money Exchange:

For personal expenses, local currency exchange is permitted in Ghana but only the most current currency notes of your home country will be accepted for exchange. Ghana will not accept outdated currency for exchange, even if the edges are crisp; so be sure your bills are current (:

Arrival & Departure

Welcome to Ghana! Akwaaba

Arrival Day

Upon arriving at Kotoka International Airport, you will be guided alongside the crowd to Customs/Immigrations. This can be a lengthy process depending on your arrival time and due to December being the busiest month of the year for the Country. For a swift transition and to cut down on time as much as possible please have your passport and necessary documents handy.

Once you’ve been cleared from customs you will retrieve your bags at baggage claim, which will be just outside of the customs area. Please keep your bags close by or a local airport agent will volunteer themselves to a job you didn't hire them for, or maybe you did! This is just a heads up.

Have your bags? Good to go! Just one final security checkpoint before exiting the airport. At this checkpoint security may or may not ask you a few questions, ranging from "What is your reason for visit"... "Do you have family in Ghana"... "Do you have any electronics in your bags -If so how many" or my favorite "What did you bring for me to Ghana"?? Just keep your answers short and sweet and you'll be good to go. If you do happen to have an array of electronics try not to voluntarily expose them for the safety of your items.

Please note:

If your WIFI is still working in Ghana, nice! Please contact +233 55 741 7026 via WhatsApp to confirm your arrival with our Ambassador. If your cellular wifi is not working, please connect to the Kotoka Intl. Airport wifi upon arrival before going through customs/baggage claim.

After you exit the airport doors you will be greeted by Paul, our B2A Tour Driver and a B2A Tour Ambassador who will assist you with your bags and stow them in the vehicle. Your B2A greeters will have a Brideg2Africa sign with your name on it for a safe and prompt pickup. Be sure to have all your belongings before exiting the airport because you will not be able to re-enter the building.

FINALLY!

You're now on your way to your African home away from home for the next coming days.

Let the Experience begin!
